Summerbridge Homework Tutor Job Description

  During Teacher Orientation: (June 18 - 27):

• Attend selected workshops regarding homework policies, management strategies, student climate, etc;
• Cultivate positive, professional working relationships with teachers and staff.

During the Six-Week Summer Program (June 30 - August 8):

• Volunteer at the Kennedy-Longfellow site on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 12:30 – 3:30pm; Fridays are optional.
• Work one-on-one with students at Homework Time Out and Homework Center , helping them with academics, organization, and work completion.
• Help teachers during Homework Hut, as necessary.
• Maintain open lines of communication with teachers and administrators regarding their students' performance.
• Submit reports to students' advisors on their academic progress and challenges.
• Participate actively at lunch, recess, Community Meeting, and Friday Special Events when possible.
