ARTS 221 Digital Imaging

Narrative
Objective: In this assignment I want you to create a narrative using multiple images. The format is up to you, but remember that Western narratives usual read from left to right. You can set up your image like a page from a comic, a series of images, or one large all encompassing image that somehow relates to the viewer a passage of events. I will show you many examples help you get started.

Assignment Details:
  • What to do:
    • Combine imagery to create a narrative.
    • For full credit each image should be:
      • at least 11"x17" inches
      • 300dpi
      • I am recommending at least three images to tell your story.
  • Tips:
    • Be sure to start early so you can bring your questions and problems to office hours.
    • Name your layers as soon as you create them. It'll be much easier than changing them all later. Make sure the names you choose are simple and easy to type. When you need to pick one little part of a complex image, it is MUCH easier to pick it by name than with the mouse.
    • Take the time to learn the keyboard shortcuts.
    • Last but not least - save EARLY and save OFTEN!
    • Look at artist Cindy Sherman.
