• 5.1 p208: 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 15, 23, 25, 27, 28
• After you have completed #27, here's something to think about.
  • We saw earlier that there is no general cancellation law for matrix multiplication (in general, AB = AC does not imply B = C).
  • However, there is a matrix-multiplication law for invertible matrices (if A is invertible and AB = AC or BA = CA, then B does equal C).
  • Look back in your class notes to see where we discussed cancellation in matrix multiplication.
  • Compare the reasoning you see there with the reasoning that is used in Problem 27.
  • What connection do you see?
