Here are some pictures of a Hughes H1 Racer that I built from Model Aviation Plans. The fuse is planked 1/16 Balsa, The engine cowl was built from a stack of 3/8 balsa circles that were cut in half circles on a laser cutter. The wing is made from sheeted 1/32" 12lb balsa built over a balsa spar and ribs. The engine cylinders were cut with a laser cutter then sanded and painted. The wing span is 34" and weighs about 17oz. without a battery.
This is a scale P-51 Mustang electric that I built from model aviation plans about 1998. It weighs about 12oz and has a span of 32". The original power plant was a speed 400 motor. It has been upgraded to a DC brushless Megapower 16/10/5 and a three cell 1300mah battery.
