Davis field in Sudbury MA is the glider and electric field for the Charles River Radio Controllers

My electric Allegro Lite. Built from plans designed by Mark Drella. Mine came out about 18oz. with a three cell 1300mAhr Lithium Battery. I built it in 2001.

Holding a Bearcat built from a Dumas rubber band kit that I converted to electric. It has under gone several upgrades of power plant and batteries. The model is cover with mylar laminating film that has been sprayed on the bottom with paint. The cover is then ironed on and shrunk just like Monokote, but about 1/3 the weight. Built around 2001.

Picture of a biplane PvtBKool built from Model Aviation plans out of 6mm Depron foam and carbon fiber. There is about $6 of foam and $40 worth of carbon fiber in this model. The carbon fiber makes it a very stiff planeform and it flies very crisp. I hand painted the plane and drew the panel lines with a fine point Sharpie. The pilot was drawn in AutoCAD, printed on a color printer, and glued onto the air frame. This plane disproves the theory that air traveling faster over the top of the wing creates a force that keeps the plane flying since the "airfoil" is a flat sheet of foam.

A Dumas rubber band powered kit of a hawker Huricane was converted electric radio control in December of 2006. The motor was wound from a CR drive motor. You can see how the motor was mounted to the plane on telescoping brass tubes. The nose cone is a nice tight friction fit. Details of the torque tubes controling the ailerons can be seen.

Kneeling on frozen Lake Waban, Wellesley,MA in December of 1995 with my original Cessna 180 that I built from Model Avaition plans and was rudder, elevator, and throtle control. The original wing was rebuilt in 1997 when I added ailerons. I then modified it in 2007 to use dual servos so I can add crow (both ailerons up) to make landing easier. The color sceme and registration was copied from some information I found online of a full scale Cessna. This is one of my favorite and most flown models. A full scale plane like this was modified and flown by Jerrie Mock in April of 1964 to become the first woman to fly soloaround the world.
