Description:

Records of the Museum; dating from 1909 to 1972 (with some earlier items); consisting of correspondence, publications, invitations, notices, photographs, negatives, forms, budgets and ledger sheets, clippings. When these records arrived at the Archives they had no overall consistent arrangement, but a number of different systems which had been used over the years. During processing they were rearranged in alphabetical subject order. These records are concerned with the operation of the Museum, the development of its collection and its role as a teaching museum; with one restricted folder of recommendations grades and salary information; including information on the Museum Training course.
