Creighton Professor of Botany 1940-1974; dating from 1889 to 1914; consisting of notebooks manuscripts, drawings correspondence, report; concerning her years at Wellesley as a "special student" and a member of the faculty of the Botany Department.

Margaret Clay Ferguson was a "special student" at Wellesley 1888-1891; an instructor in botany 1893-1896 and 1901-1904; an associate professor of Botany and head of department 1904-1906; a professor and head of department 1906-1930; the Director of Botany Greenhouses and gardens and research professor of botany 193O-1932.
