Historical Note

Wellesley College, first named The Wellesley Female Seminary, was founded in 1870 by Henry and Pauline Durant. In 1875, 314 students enrolled as part of the first class. 18 of those women graduated in 1879.

Scope and Contents

Records of the Class of 1894; dating from 1889-1965; consisting of class history, course lists, letters, memorabilia, minutes, reports, oar, plays, programs, and publications; concerning student and alumnae activities, individuals, reunions; including class book (1894), "The Taming of the Shrew" (1893) and '94 class crew oar.
