Historical Note

Wellesley College, first named The Wellesley Female Seminary, was founded in 1870 by Henry and Pauline Durant. In 1875, 314 students enrolled as part of the first class. 18 of those women graduated in 1879.

Scope and Contents

Records of the Class of 1902; dating from 1898 to 1962; consisting of correspondence, class histories, clippings, class constitution, minutes, notebooks, oars, photographs, photograph albums, programs, poetry and scrapbooks; concerning class meetings and the social and academic activities of members of the class as undergraduates, and information on reunions, careers and activities of members of the class as alumnae.
