Yoshimi Maeno received a doctorate in Second Language Acquisition from Harvard
University in 2000. She earned Master's degrees from Harvard University,
and West Virginia University. She has taught Japanese
at West Virginia University, Cornell University, and Harvard University;
she is currently teaching at Wellesley College.
Yoshimi Maeno recently published
a book entitled, The Acquisition of the Japanese Oral Narrative
Style by
Native English-Speaking
Bilinguals (The Edwin Mellen Press, 2004). Other publications include
articles on Japanese Pedagogy, Japanese Linguistics, Discourse
Analysis, and Japanese Narrative Style. Her research interests are
second language
acquisition, Japanese pedagogy, applied linguistics, and psycholinguistics.
