Seminar Assignment
You should complete this assignment as soon as you can!!!
The assignment must be turned in between now and November 23. It will not be accepted after November 23
During the semester, you are required to attend at seminar at Harvard Law School or another approved location (e.g., NBER, the Boston Federal Reserve, an approved on-campus lecture) that uses both law and economics. Prior to going to the law and economics seminar, you should read the paper that will be discussed. If no paper is available, read a paper on the topic of the lecture.
After attending the seminar, you should write up a description of the article (1 paragraph). You should also write up a 1 paragraph description of the discussion that occurred at the seminar and the atmosphere at the seminar.
Upload your two paragraphs to the Seminar Assignment folder in the Econ325-Drop First Class conference.
I will ask you to briefly (approximately 10 minutes) describe the topic of the seminar and the discussion at the seminar in class. Let me know by sending an email to Ask Ann--Econ325 when you are ready to present your 10 minute description to the class. If I forget to call on you, just remind me in class. The 10 minute time limit will be strictly enforced & your grade on this assignment will depend partially on whether or not you stay within the time limit.
Note: The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) holds conferences throughout the fall. Attendance is by invitation. Since I am a member of NBER's Labor Studies program, Public Economics program and Education program, you can attend the fall meetings of these programs. If anyone asks why you are there, just tell them you are working with me.
